Construction Phases

Phase 1:  Laying the Groundwork

> Form Masjid Tawbah Project Building Team [complete]

> Set up a bank account for Masjid Tawbah [complete]

> Gain permission from Canadian government to accumulate international funds [complete]

> Design and launch Masjid Tawbah website [complete]

> Actively engage in fundraising activities [ongoing]

> Search for suitable land/property [in process]

> Appraise, assess, rezone, obtain permits, purchase land

> Design blueprints

Phase 2:  Laying the Cement

> Build 1st floor prayer hall of Masjid Tawbah including:

  • Prayer halls
  • Amenities such as multipurpose area, washrooms, kitchen
  • Burial preparation (Ghusl) room
  • Health clinic

> Designate parking areas

Phase 3:  Finish 2-Level Masjid

       > Complete construction and furnishing of 2nd floor of Masjid Tawbah including:

  • Library/Centre for Research
  • Spaces for quiet retreat
  • Meeting and Family rooms
  • Amenities such as washrooms, kitchen

Phase 4: School

> Construct 3-level residence building for the Imam, caretaker and guests

> Build fully-equipped school for Kindergarten – Grade 12

> Build gymnasium

Phase 5: World Institute for Peace

> Build 2-floor World Institute for Peace including:

  • Cordova Library (housing literature on peaceful co-habitation of the three monotheistic faiths during the era of Islamic Spain)
  • Community hall – used for banquets (eg. Eid Milan and Family Dars dinners), social gatherings (eg. Walima, Janazah), and lectures/conferences (eg. Interfaith activities)
  • Amenities such as washrooms, kitchen

> Build store & café

> Complete parking and landscaping
