Masjid Tawbah & World Institute for Peace

Who is he that will loan to Allah a beautiful loan, which Allah will double unto his credit and
multiply many times?  It is Allah that gives want or plenty.  And to Him shall be your return.

      Below are 7 compelling reasons why we need this new masjid in Vancouver, Canada:

1. Vancouver city is ranked one of the top three cities in the world to live.  Masjid Tawbah will positively increase the visibility and presence of Islam in the West and see a rise in the confidence and identity of Muslims in Canada. 
2. Currently, Vancouver city only has musallahs.  There is no full-service masjid that offers religious, education, health, and youth/family services.  Masjid Tawbah will provide a safe, stable community space for youth and families.
3. Vancouver is known for its cultural and religious diversity.  Masjid Tawbah & World Institute for Peace will lead the way in building bridges with other faith communities, and share how Islam contributes to the universal quest for peace.
4. Many Muslim families are immigrants with big dreams for their children.  The K – 12 Islamic Academic School and University Scholarship Fund will provide high-quality education opportunities to ensure our future generations of young Muslims grow strong in faith and knowledge.
5. A public library housing literature on the peaceful co-habitation of Muslims, Christians and Jews in the era of Islamic Spain will be a unique feature of the masjid.  It will endeavour to share the rich Islamic history with the West.
6. As the Centre for Research, Masjid Tawbah will invite international scholars to teach on Comparative Religion, History, Islamic Studies, and Linguistics.
7. 15,000 Muslims reside in Vancouver city alone, and another 75,000 in nearby sister-cities. According to Statistics Canada, these numbers are doubling every 10 years.
